Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it should be justified in "Comments to the Editor".
  • Submission files are in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format (provided they do not exceed 2MB)
  • URLs for referrals were reported as needed.
  • Formatting is as required; the text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors in the section About the Magazine
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, in the About the Magazine section.
  • The authorship of the work was removed from the file and from the Properties option in Word, thus guaranteeing the journal's confidentiality criteria, if submitted for peer review (eg articles), according to instructions available in Ensuring Blind Rating by Peers.

Author Guidelines

RULES FOR SUBMISSION

 

EDITING TEXT

 

  • Software: The article should be edited only in Word software;
  • Source: "Times New Roman", size 12;
  • Text: justified alignment;
  • Titles: in bold, centered, numbered, and uppercase, in Times New Roman font, size 12, the spacing of two lines before the title and one line below the title should be given;
  • Paragraph: 1.25 cm (tabulation)
  • Page: A4 paper, portrait orientation, double spacing and continuously numbered lines;
  • Margins: upper, lower and left: 3 cm and right: 2 cm;
  • Tables: width of 10 or 15 cm, in "Times New Roman" font, size 12, inserted just below the paragraph in which they were quoted, the title of the table should be above it, the term "Table" should be in bold , numbered and followed by a dot (Example: Table 1. Irriga Magazine), the source of the table should come just below it, in Times New Roman, size 10, the term "Source" should be bold and followed by colon (Example: Source: Irriga (2017));
  • Graphs and figures: width of 10 or 15 cm, with minimum resolution of 300 bpi, inserted just below the paragraph in which they were cited, the title must be above it, the term "Graphic" or "Figure" should be in bold , numbered and followed by a dot (Example: Figure 1. Irriga Magazine), the source should come just below it, in Times New Roman, size 10, the term "Source" should be bold and followed by colon (Example: Source: Irriga (2017)). The use of colors is recommended to facilitate the understanding of the information expressed, and borders should not be used;
  • References and quotations: According to ABNT standards.

 

SEQUENTIAL COMPOSITION

 

  • Title: font "Times New Roman", size 12, bold, centered and upper case. The title of the work, in upper case, centered and bold, not including scientific names of species, unless there is no common name in the language in which it was written. Section headings should be in uppercase, centered, bold, and numbered (Ex: 3 INTRODUCTION); the subtitles should be left aligned (Ex: 3.1 Solo);
  • Authors’ names: in full, "Times New Roman" font, size 12, bold, centered, upper box, separated by semicolons (;) and last author by conjunction "AND" (Example: AUTHOR NAME 01; AUTHOR NAME 2 AND AUTHOR NAME 3). The article should contain a maximum of 6 (six) authors, ATTENTION: the name of the authors shall not be included in the article at the time of submission, given that the article will be made available to the evaluators, thus ensuring that it is blindly evaluated;
  • Authors’ affiliations: below the authors’ names, the full affiliation of the authors must be included, in Times New Roman size 12, italic, as follows: department, institution of origin, address and e-mail, ATTENTION: authors' affiliation should not be included in the article at the time of submission, since the article will be made available to the evaluators, ensuring that it is blindly evaluated;
  • Abstract: should not contain more than 200 words.
  • Keywords: at least 3 (three) and at most 5 (five), separated by commas, Times New Roman font, size 12, all lowercase. They should never repeat terms for indexing that are already in the title;
  • Abbreviation of authors’ names: authors' names as indicated in bibliographical references, font "Times New Roman", size 12, bold, centered, upper case, separated by semicolons (;), (Example: SÁNCHEZ-ROMÁN, RM ; VIZENZZOTTO, RM)
  • Title in English;
  • Abstract;
  • Key words: separated by comma, font "Times New Roman", size 12, all in lower case, and must be a faithful translation of the keywords;
  • Introduction;
  • Material and methods;
  • Results and discussion;
  • Conclusions;
  • Acknowledgments: optional;
  • References: according to ABNT standards.

 

SUBMISSION STAGES

 

The article should be submitted online, on Irriga Magazine website (http://www.fca.unesp.br/irriga) in four steps.

 

STEP 1. BEGINNING: In the first step the language of the submission is presented first, and it must be selected among the languages: Portuguese; Spanish and English.

Then, the manuscript submission requirements are presented, in which the authors must provide, by selecting the checkboxes, the following information: The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it should be justified in "Comments to the Editor"; Submission files are in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format (provided they do not exceed 2MB); URLs for referrals were reported when needed; The formatting is as required; the text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, in the section About the Magazine; The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, in section About  - submissions ; The authorship identification of the work was removed from the file and from the Properties option in Word, thus guaranteeing the journal's confidentiality criterion, if submitted for peer review (eg articles), according to instructions available in Securing the Peer Blind Assessment ; Methods of Payment Use one of the bank accounts to deposit the amounts referring to the articles published in IRRIGA. In the next step the authors can leave comments to the editor (optional); select the role of the work author and accept the copyright statement.

 

STEP 2. TRANSFER OF THE MANUSCRIPT: In the second step, the file of the manuscript to be submitted to IRRIGA will be transferred, which should not contain the names of the authors, their institutional and electronic addresses, ensuring that it is evaluated blindly.

 

STEP 3. SUBMISSION DATA (INDEX): In the third step the corresponding author must provide the following information: title, subtitle (optional), abstract, all authors and co-authors.

 

STEP 4. CONFIRMATION: In this step the submission will be completed.

 

REMINDER: Authors must send the LIABILITY TERM  to the email irriga.fca@unesp.br, signed by all those involved in the article (see "term of responsibility").

 

LIABILITY TERM

The author must send a liability term  along with his submission, stating that:

Authors must submit a single document (others), signed by all those involved in the article, liability term as follows:

  • I certify that I participated sufficiently in the work to make public my responsibility for the content;
  • I certify that the article represents an original work and has not been published or is being considered for publication in another journal, whether in print or electronic format.

 

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

 

Papers submitted to Revista Irriga will be evaluated by at least two external reviewers, selected by specialty and / or affinity in relation to the thematic content of the works under consideration.

 

The referees are entitled to submit a favorable opinion conditioned to the rewording of the article or similar work, to make suggestions for rewording, as well as the right to suggest the editing of the recast text, provided that any changes do not alter its content.

 

The referees are given a period of 30 (thirty) calendar days, from the date of delivery of the article, for the presentation of the opinion. This period may be extended for an equal or shorter period, at the discretion of the editorial team.
